This role is focused on leading the IC Digital Development activity for touch sensing and automotive MCUs. The team is focussed on the definition and development of the next-generation products in these two markets. Technical leadership will focus on deriving the digital requirements from the product requirements, overseeing the digital architecture, design, implementation, verification and validation. Team management will include resource and project planning, goal setting and performance monitoring, setting and controlling team budgets. As head of the Digital Team, you will be working closely with system architecture, Research, software and sensor teams locally, as well as Analogue, Place and Route, Test and Reliability groups in the China region. Helping define the direction and delivery of our next-generation products. This opening is an exciting opportunity to be part of new developments and directly impact the outcome.
Main Duties
- Work with stakeholders to define product definitions and project objectives
- Design, verify and validate new generation of capacitive touch controller ICs, incorporating new touch sensing architectures
- Design, verify and validate new generation of automotive MCUs to a high safety standard
- Provide technical direction to ensure performance and cost effectiveness of products is continually improved
- Provide and share IC design expertise with the wider ESWIN community
- Work with internal/external IP supplier to achieve required functionality, ensure quality of third-party IP
- Represent the team in the selection of EDA solutions for design, test, verification and validation of IC database
- Resource and project planning, goal setting and performance monitoring
- Provide timely planning data and feedback
- Mentor and coach IC Development engineers
What we expect from you

- IP engineering supply chain management (good knowledge of the IP maturity models)
- Competent in DfT, DfM, Silicon Debug, Failure analysis and methodologies
The essential requirements
- BEng or MEng in Engineering, Electronics or related subjects (upper second class or equivalent)
- 5+ years of experience in digital or mixed-signal design (preferably ASIC design).
- 1+ years of experience managing/leading people (e.g. line manager or project lead)
Desirable but not essential
- Experience of Mixed Signal design
- Good working knowledge of JIRA, use of Confluence for documentation
- Touch industry experience is advantageous.
- Experience of ISO-26262 (Functional Safety) or similar high reliability designs
- Familiarity with Display Drivers (DDI)
- Familiarity with the whole ASIC follow front end and back end
