The Operational Resilience & Continuity Lead will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of operational resilience & continuity strategies across esure. This leadership role focuses on ensuring that business operations remain stable and functional during disruptions, mitigating risk, and responding effectively to potential operational challenges.

The role will require close collaboration with cross-functional teams to align resilience plans with business objectives, ensuring esure can recover swiftly and effectively from any disruptions, whether they be related to technology, processes, or external factors.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and own the Operational Resilience Framework for esure, leading the activities to maintain and improve operational resilience. This includes ongoing assessment and scenario testing activities with the IBS owners to demonstrate and report on the ability to operate consistently within agreed impact tolerances beyond the 2025 regulatory deadline.
  • Own and oversee the design, development and maintenance of Operational Resilience collateral including Policy, Processes, Standards, Operating Model, and other relevant ad-hoc requirements.
  • Work closely with IBS owner to ensure their IBSs, associated mapping, and processes remain current and impact tolerances regularly reviewed.
  • Define, implement, and take responsibility for effective monitoring and reporting of IBSs, associated risks, and operational effectiveness.
  • Ensure resilience risks and vulnerabilities are identified, reported and any resulting remediation activities are tracked and completed.

  • Extensive knowledge and practical hands-on experience in operational resilience, business continuity, and crisis management.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships and work autonomously while managing workload effectively.
  • Strategic thinker with good commercial awareness, analytical skills, and the ability to draw insights from various data sources.
  • Previous experience in an Operational Resilience & Business Continuity role within Financial Services.
  • Expert knowledge of industry best practices and regulatory guidance for Operational Resilience Management.
  • Certified/Accredited to the following industry organisations: Institute of Risk Management (IRM), Business Continuity Institute (BCI).
