You/\’ll work in a cross functional team, crafting and supporting new technical products to fuel our ambitious digital transformation.This is a great opportunity to work on greenfield products and become a pivotal part of our future; it will be a pure backend position. Experience with Java (ideally 17) and Spring Boot is needed for this role.We encourage to you apply for a chance to develop your abilities and grow in your career.The day to day:Become a Integral member of an impactful Agile team, contributing to the shaping and development of esure/\’s future.Craft and construct digital and technical products.Collaborate within a team to set the technical direction for supported products.Engage in greenfield development, constructing internal and external APIs from the ground up.Provide 2nd line support for applications and platforms, occasionally beyond regular office hours.Identify and address areas for technical product improvement and tackle opportunities for reducing technical debt.Challenge existing processes to improve departmental efficiency and ways of working.QualificationsWhat we/\’d love to see:Developer experience in scaled Agile, with delivery partners and 3rd party applicationsStrong technical expertise in Java and Spring Boot.Proficient in Spring Boot; Apache Kafka experience is desirable, but not crucial.Effective communication of technical concepts to non-technical audiencesWorked on technical projects within cross-functional teamsKnowledge and practice of code quality techniques like continuous integration, unit testing, and peer reviewsRapid research and adaptation to new programming tools and techniquesExperience in building and scaling high-traffic websites or critically important line-of-business systemsAutomated integration and acceptance testing experience, preferably with a BDD frameworkAdditional InformationThis is your opportunity to shape our game-changing journey and be part of something truly special!
