  • Education: Other trades certificate or diploma or equivalent experience
  • Experience: Experience an asset
  • Heavy Equipment Operator Trade Certification
  • Driver's License (Class 1 or A)
  • Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Ground Disturbance - Level 1 program
  • Ground Disturbance - Level II program
Responsibilities
  • Interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications to plan methods or sequences of operation
  • Operate heavy equipment
  • Read blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements
  • Clean and lubricate equipment and refill equipment tanks
  • Measure distance, volume, length and weight
  • Complete onboard and other logs
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment
  • Secure special attachments to equipment
  • Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment
  • Perform minor repairs to equipment
  • Operate hydraulic pumping systems
