Job Description: As a Junior Engineer / Level 3 ICT Apprentice, you will maintain the integrity and functionality of incoming IT hardware, manage hardware returns, provide technical support, and escalate complex issues. Your work will ensure smooth computer system operations and high-quality support services. A passion for technology and excellence is essential. Key Responsibilities: Test incoming hardware for defects or issues. Troubleshoot and repair hardware problems. Verify received items against purchase orders. Keep records of tests, repairs, and audits. Document equipment status, issues, and resolutions. Diagnose and repair customer devices, including servers, workstations, desktops, laptops, and peripherals. Identify root causes of technical issues and resolve them. Handle returns efficiently to ensure customer satisfaction. Provide 3rd line technical support as an escalation point. Install, configure, and maintain systems and software. Collaborate with support teams to resolve issues. Document activities accurately in the ticketing system. Stay updated on new technologies and best practices. Maintain a clean, safe workspace. Dispose of electronic waste responsibly. Complete checklists and report issues to the manager. Update the PRO process and keep all parties informed. Qualifications: GCSE Maths & English grade 5 or above. A Level in Maths, Physics, ICT, or similar (desirable). Technical certifications (desirable). Skills & Personal Qualities: Experience troubleshooting and repairing hardware components like CPUs, RAM, drives, motherboards. Knowledge of computer hardware, OS, and software. Familiarity with diagnostic tools and troubleshooting software. Experience with Windows, macOS, and Linux. Friendly attitude and focus on customer experience. Ability to lift equipment up to 25kg. Personal Qualities: Attention to detail and following procedures. Independent worker with good time management. Organized and efficient.
