About the Company: Bournside is an established single academy trust with a PAN of 300. We have a wide catchment, over 200 staff and over 1,800 students. Our highly successful sixth formers have their own large base within the school too. Job Description: To contribute to the IT support provisions at Cheltenham Bournside School by assisting the Senior IT Manager & Assistant IT Services Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- To help ensure that all computer rooms and mobile device trollies are kept in a well ordered, neat and presentable state.
- To install, maintain and repair IT and audio-visual hardware and peripherals.
- To deploy operating systems and software packages to school computers and mobile devices.
- To ensure that printers and reprographics equipment are stocked with required consumables.
- To assist staff with the more advanced features of Microsoft 365, such as forms, SharePoint and collaborative tools.
- To provide a first point of contact for technical support requests from staff and students.
- To assist with basic network administration tasks such as the creation of user accounts and resetting of passwords.
- To support parents with the use of the various school portals and communication systems.
- To assist with any other general IT duties as directed by your line manager that are commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility of this post.
Other:
- To have professional regard for the ethos, policies and practices of the school and maintain high standards of attendance and punctuality.
- Perform any reasonable duties as requested by the headteacher.
Qualifications:
Educational Requirements: Grade 4/5 or above in English & Maths GCSE. Relevant formal qualification or experience of working in a technical role. Commitment to complete the apprenticeship training program.
Skills Required:
- Essential: Knowledge of PC and laptop hardware, Windows operation systems, Apple MacOS or iOS, experience of using Microsoft 365 collaboration tools, good level of literacy and communication skills.
- Desirable: Knowledge or experience of Windows servers, TPC/IP networking, Microsoft deployment tools, mobile management systems.
