Grade/Scale: Derbyshire Support Pay Scale Grade 5 (Points 4-5), Actual Salary £21,657 - £21,999 per annum
Contract: 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (Term time only)
Responsibilities
- Ensure pupils have food and drink provision throughout the day and support food cooking lessons as a Teaching Assistant.
- Uphold food safety and hygiene standards; adhere to related risk assessments and COSHH.
- Support pupils in a fast-paced environment with vulnerable pupils, maintaining proactive and positive role modeling.
- Assist with sourcing and collecting meals as required, with flexibility to explore other options for meal provision.
- Contribute to pupil welfare and well-being across all key stages (up to KS4).
Qualifications and Requirements
- Experience working with disaffected pupils in a school or alternative setting; ability to engage pupils with behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties.
- Strong mental and physical resilience, high expectations, sense of humour, and ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
- Daily access to a car with business use included on car insurance; some duties may involve collecting lunches from other venues and transporting pupils as part of role responsibilities.
