Esteem North Academy is looking to recruit an experienced and organised catering professional to join our academy to ensure that our primary aged pupils have meal provision at lunchtime. The post will suit someone who can work as a team player and has knowledge and experience working with food safety and hygiene protocols. This role will involve direct contact with children and serving of food in their classrooms. Meals are to be collected from the adjacent schools and served on site. There is minimal to no food preparation on site. You will need to have a genuine desire to work with pupils with SEND and understand their triggers. The site is small and has approximately 30 pupils on site. We do not have a large school kitchen on site. You will be responsible for adhering to related risk assessments and COSHH. This role is to ensure that we can cater for pupil's welfare throughout lunchtime and will also involve supporting pupils with eating their lunch, toileting and playing.

Applicants should ideally have good knowledge and experience of working with disaffected pupils in a school or other alternative setting. An affinity for pupils with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties is an essential quality for this challenging but rewarding opportunity. Applicants should have strong mental and physical resilience, have high expectations, and a sense of humour. You must be able to build positive relationships with our pupils and think outside of the box.

Individuals must be willing to contribute fully to the life of the academy and be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Mileage claims for any travel from your allocated site during the working day are included in this role. There may be travel to our other academy sites for meetings, Inset and CPD. You are required to have daily access to a car with business use included on your car insurance before you begin the role. For example, you may be required to collect lunches from other venues, or attend training courses at other sites.

Benefits Include:

  • LGPS Pension Scheme (16.6% employer contributions)
  • Generous holiday entitlement
  • Access to Westfield Health membership scheme including cashback schemes for health and retail benefits, discounted gym memberships, and free confidential advice.
  • Access to National College CPD platform.

We reserve the right to interview suitable candidates upon application and may close the application process prior to this date. Esteem Multi-Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all its students. We expect all staff, volunteers and agency staff to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post, as all cases are judged individually according to the nature of the role and information provided.

We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace. We welcome applications from all individuals, regardless of age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, marriage and civil partnership status. Perfection is not required; if you are excited by the role and our organisation, but not sure if you meet 100% of the criteria, we would still love to hear from you!
