Are you passionate about driving maintenance excellence and creating safe, reliable and efficient operations? At Essity, we are looking for a Maintenance Leader to play a key role in strengthening our “Run to Standard” culture and supporting long‑term asset performance at our Prudhoe Mill site. This role is a direct replacement and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on safety, reliability, people development and site strategy.

About the Role

As Maintenance Leader, you will assure legal compliance across all maintenance activities while leading the organisation to consistently work to standard. You will contribute to defining the Maintenance Roadmap in line with the Site Strategy and drive behaviours that return assets to, and maintain them at, their basic standard condition. You will play a key role in the implementation of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) across your area and the wider Prudhoe site, embedding TPM principles to improve equipment reliability, ownership and performance. You will act as a role model for safety and continuous improvement, supporting teams to minimise unplanned stops and deliver sustainable performance.

What You Will Do

  • Act as a role model for safety, ensuring maintenance activities meet legal and Essity standards
  • Own and manage planned and unplanned maintenance processes
  • Drive a zero‑stops mindset, minimising unplanned downtime through best practices and continuous improvement
  • Establish and lead maintenance planning meetings, covering planning and scheduling of all maintenance activities
  • Coach and support the organisation in maintenance behaviours, tools and ways of working
  • Facilitate the application of systems expert maintenance and contribute to team‑based maintenance systems
  • Own the maintenance management information system, including technical databases and SAP PM/MM
  • Lead the breakdown elimination process (OPA / OPL), defining strategies for reliability improvement and cost reduction
  • Own maintenance quality standards and KPIs, including budget ownership and defect trend analysis
  • Own and control the maintenance budget, ensuring effective cost management and value delivery
  • Take ownership of assigned decentralised capital projects, from planning through to execution and handover
  • Develop and maintain a five‑year asset development plan, including maintenance investments and sustainability initiatives
  • Be accountable for performance management and consequence management within the maintenance function

  • Experienced in maintenance leadership within an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Confident working with maintenance systems, technical databases and SAP PM/MM
  • Able to coach, influence and engage others to work to standard
  • Comfortable balancing short‑term operational needs with long‑term asset strategy
  • Data‑driven, using KPIs to drive continuous improvement
