We have a vacancy for a Warehouse / Logistics Shift Leader working 12-hour shifts following a 4-on/6-off shift pattern. Within the role you will be responsible for the shift warehouse and logistics area operation where you will lead the logistics team for your shift operating in a safe manner and ensuring quality of the highest standards. You should be aware of the current departmental goals and objectives and your individual team results; it is your responsibility to understand any gaps and what actions are being undertaken to address them. You should endeavour to contribute to these goals in the form of suggestions or data collection as and when required.

What You Will Do

  • You will lead the logistics shift team in organisational and decision-making capacity to ensure excellence in execution of all tasks and key performance indicators for the logistics department.
  • You are part of the logistics operational leadership team and with this, you should be an active part in the decision-making process and team-based organisational decisions.
  • Champion and demonstrate the Essity Beliefs and Behaviours and site CBN.
  • Work with your manager/leader to arrange and facilitate any training that you or your team requires.
  • It is your responsibility that any new starting FLT operators receive and complete all training requirements in their area of work and all training documentation is completed and signed off.
  • Ensure you and your team are on time for the start of your shift at the relevant point of work. Coordinate breaks to maintain adequate staffing in all areas always.
  • If there are any logistics positions short on your shift and no cover is available, you will need to coordinate your shift to ensure all positions are covered between the shift team so all tasks can be carried out safely with no disruption to the business.
  • Maintain high-level housekeeping standards at all times in all department areas and that your team area is always at the correct standard and plan to correct any outages, also support other shift logistics teams with their standards areas.
  • All handover standards in all the team’s areas should be completed fully. No Exceptions.
  • Ensure that all team members work in their assigned operating positions and execute all tasks with excellence, adhering to all documented procedures for their area of work they are trained and qualified in.
  • Ensure all material deliveries on SAP delivery note - that the delivered material matches the delivery note, then once the material is unloaded the SAP note is goods receipted before any of these materials are delivered to the converting lines.
  • Ensure all issues are documented in the shift logbooks.
  • Ensure that all shift inspection checks are completed on logistics equipment by the logistics operators in all areas with excellence and in a timely manner, all shift equipment cleaning standards are completed adhering to the documented procedure.
  • Address any individual performance issues within your team on a 1:1 basis with the assistance of a department leader if required on a 2:1 basis.

Who You Are

You will have previous experience working in a similar high-speed production industry - warehouse / logistics shift leader role where you have been proactive in using H&S practices in your day-to-day work. You will enjoy leading a team and working with other internal departments within the mill, also have excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to find the root cause of all issues. Communicating effectively will be important to you and you will be someone who likes to ensure their work is accurate by paying attention to detail.
