Logistics Operator (Goods Out)

About the role
Do you hold a forklift truck licence? Do you have experience of working on a busy integrated distribution centre? Are you able to work shifts? If so, our Logistics operator role at our Ashton-in-Makerfield site may be just the opportunity you are looking for.
Reporting to the Logistics Team Leader you will work to satisfy the needs of Essity customers by unloading and picking orders correctly and despatching them on time. On a day-to-day basis you will be ensuring compliance with corporate or legislative requirements, including Health and Safety and quality controls. You will also ensure housekeeping standards are maintained at all times.
The shift pattern for this role is a 3 shift rotating pattern following:
Monday to Thursday 6am till 2pm and Fridays 6am till 1pm.
Monday to Thursday 10pm till 6am and Fridays 8pm till 3am (Saturday morning).
Monday to Thursday 2pm till 10pm and Fridays 1pm till 8pm.
Responsibilities
The Logistics Operator\βs key tasks are as follows:
- Case picking and assembling of orders through radio frequency
- Loading vehicles correctly with finished product for onward delivery
- Ensuring all goods are correctly labelled, barcoded and recorded
- Reworking of product onto different pallet types or configurations, assisting with customer returns and re-working as necessary
- Picking and preparation of express parcel delivery orders

Qualifications
- A valid UK Fork lift truck licence (essential)
- A powered pallet truck and Low Level order picker licence (desirable)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels
- Logistics background (desirable)
- Previous experience of using Radio Frequency equipment and a live environment Warehouse Management System
- NVQ L2 in warehouse and logistics (desirable)
