About the Role
Our focus is on continuous improvement and maintaining an excellent H&S environment. As an Electrical and Instrumental Technician, working a 4 on, 6 off shift pattern, you will play a key part in ensuring that our fast-paced papermaking machines operate effectively to meet the demands of a 24/7 production environment. You will be accountable for defined maintenance activities based on both predictive and preventative maintenance to ensure both key performance indicators (KPI’s) and site objectives are met.

What You Will Do
- With a good safety focus you will be responsible for defined preventive and predictive maintenance on our paper machines.
- Trouble shoot equipment/process problems to root cause in conjunction with team members to ensure the rapid resolution of problems.
- Day to day, you will be hands on working to key performance indicators (KPIs) ensuring that through continuous improvement activity as well as planned maintenance, the objectives are met, which may include out of hours support.
- You will also support and coach colleagues in handling various technical issues.
- You will work to all company standards including safety and quality; and work on medium and longer-term projects to improve the efficiencies of the mill.
Who You Are
- Proven Electrical, Mechanical and instrumentation experience in a heavy industry, manufacturing or process environment.
- Completed a recognised electrical engineering apprenticeship preferably with a City & Guilds or equivalent NVQ 3 qualification.
- Proven experience in maintaining complex automated manufacturing systems and equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for technical issues with the ability to problem solve using root cause analysis.
- Proven fault-finding skills.
- Knowledge of process instrumentation.
- Knowledge of pneumatic/hydraulic components.
- Be a driven team player with good planning and mentoring skills.
- Ability to plan and work to tight timelines while managing several tasks.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong PC skills (Excel, Word, Project).
Although not essential, the following would be desirable:
- Relevant HNC level qualification.
- High Voltage experience.
- Knowledge of boiler & burner systems.
- Mobile Elevated Working Platforms (MEWPS) Licence.
- Papermaking experience.
