About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed qualified Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Technician to support this journey via providing expert technical knowledge and work along side the operation to help build the knowledge of the teams, along with help deliver best in class results. This is a day based role working within our Paper mill.
What You Will Do
As an Electrical Technician you will become a fully integrated member of the day support team. You will use your technical expertise and knowledge to improve the day to day operational efficiency of our machinery, by ensuring regular and efficient maintenance is carried out.
You will solve problems quickly and effectively to support the overall aim of hitting key performance indicators (KPI’s) and stretch targets. Carrying out both predictive and reactive work you will work both independently and as part of a team.
You will bring with you experience of PLC’s, Control systems, SCADA, Instrumentation, 3 phase motors and drives. Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems would also be advantageous. You will be a self starter with a ‘fix it for good’ mentality. You will also need to be comfortable in working with large scale plant and machinery and have a passion.
Who You Are
- Proven Electrical and Instrumentation experience in a heavy industry, manufacturing or process environment
- A recognised electrical or electrical/instrument engineering apprenticeship preferably with a City & Guilds or equivalent NVQ qualification
- Proven experience in maintaining complex automated manufacturing systems and equipment
- Experience with Siemens PLC logic (S7 classic, TIA portal)
- Excellent trouble shooting skills, with the ability to plan and work to tight timelines while managing several tasks
- Experience in panel wiring
- Knowledge of pneumatic/hydraulic components
- Strong communication skills
- Strong PC skills (excel, word, project)
- HNC level qualification in electrical engineering or equivalent
