About the role
Join Essity as a Warehouse Operator Apprentice, and over 14 months, develop skills in all supply chain warehouse functions including unloading, picking, dispatch, and stock control. Learn how to operate machinery safely, interact with customers, and understand how technology supports warehouse operations.
We have 2 positions available, based in Skelmersdale and Ashton Under Lyne.
You will work Monday to Thursday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, and Friday, 8:00 am - 3:00 pm. Occasionally, you may need to switch to shift work, which involves working four 12-hour shifts (two days and two nights) followed by four days off, with longer shift breaks of 18 days several times a year. You must be 18 years old by the start date.
What you will do
- Understand warehouse safety and environmental issues
- Operate warehouse equipment and machinery safely (counterbalance/reach trucks, ride-on pallet trucks)
- Complete daily safety checks
- Take deliveries and perform quality checks of incoming goods
- Store goods and move stock within the warehouse
- Pick and pack orders
- Operate the warehouse management system
- Rework products and undertake daily stock counts
- Assist with customer returns
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and cleanliness
On successful completion, you will achieve a Level 2 Supply Chain Warehouse Operative Apprenticeship, providing a strong platform to develop a long-lasting career with Essity.
Who you are
We would love to hear from you if you have a minimum of GCSEs at grades D / 3 or above (or equivalent) in Maths and English. You should also demonstrate:

- A willingness to work as part of a team
- Effective communication skills with a wide range of people
- Dedication to completing tasks under tight deadlines
