Overview
Reporting directly to a Regional Sales Manager, the Business Development Manager will engage independent optician customers with effective account management. Increase the use of Essilor lenses with existing accounts and drive profitable sales through direct and indirect channels. Seek opportunities to acquire new lens business directly or introduce other Essilor team members to deliver growth. Align with the Company sales and marketing strategy to meet revenue targets within the discount structure. Develop, build and maintain relationships to grow sales of the Company\\\βs full product range in line with goals and forecasts. Ensure Essilor is progressive and growing as the customer\\\βs preferred supplier in the territory, maintaining high motivation and results.
Responsibilities
- Maintain an effective and consistent field call programme for both Direct and Indirect Independent Accounts.
- Sell the full range of Essilor products across the geographical area to increase sales and establish Essilor as the preferred supplier through negotiation with opticians.
- Present relevant marketing/commercial activity to key personnel, agreeing actions and processes to ensure success, with a focus on differentiation through personalised lenses and premium technologies.
- Regularly review customers\\\β business, product mix and supplier preferences, promoting Essilor lenses as the first choice and securing lens volumes with a tailored commercial offer.
- Agree and implement customer training, both in practice and in seminar format, on new and existing products to improve added value sales and product mix.
- Maintain accurate customer records and reports for relevant accounts to ensure sales data and market activity can be analysed, recording information in Salesforce.com.
- Ensure Essilor and competitor product knowledge is continually maintained.
- Continuously assess the market, maintain customer and competitor records to identify opportunities and provide call, monthly and forward planning reports as required by Sales Management.
- Act as an ambassador of Essilor and its values, engaging colleagues from the Bespoke and Transitions teams with customers when appropriate.
- Willingness to pioneer new frontiers, foster inclusivity and collaboration, embrace agility, ignite passion, and contribute to the company\\\βs impact.
- Experience of successful sales account management in related field; Optical experience; ability to work independently and as part of a remote team; ability to use initiative and resolve problems within tight deadlines; excellent communication and data analysis skills; strong time management and organisational skills; experience in selling and negotiating; good commercial understanding; computer literate and able to learn new tools.
- Desirable: knowledge and experience of pricing systems, marketing theory and its application, selling and negotiating techniques; proven training and coaching experience; previous group and individual training; knowledge of lens manufacturing processes, Company products and UK optical market.
