Stifford Clays Primary School is a community‑focused school for 2 to 11 year olds, located centrally in the Stifford Clays ward of Thurrock.

The school has an Ofsted rating of ‘Good’ (2022) and is committed to providing a positive learning environment.

We have a resource base provision for children with autism.

We are looking for an Administration Assistant to undertake daily attendance monitoring and general administrative duties within the school office.

This is a part‑time position working Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 11:45 am.

Responsibilities

  • Organise and prioritise workload efficiently.
  • Communicate effectively via email, face‑to‑face, telephone, and written letters.
  • Work independently and take initiative on tasks.
  • Provide calm support and work well with others under pressure.
  • Keep the best interests of children at the heart of all work.
  • Use Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, Publisher, Power Point) confidently.
  • Use the school information system (SIMS) – desirable but not essential.

Qualifications

  • Previous administrative experience in a school office or public sector – highly desirable but not essential; training will be provided.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good ICT skills and confidence with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work under pressure and independently.
  • Understanding of child safeguarding and willingness to undergo child protection screening, reference checks and an enhanced DBS check.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
