Working hours: Part time – 15 hours per week, Monday to Sunday on a rota basis, including regular weekend and Bank Holiday working and occasional evenings for events and activities.

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and passionate Centre Assistant to join us at our Nature Discovery Centre at Hanningfield Reservoir. This role will support a busy summer season, helping visitors enjoy our facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Serve customers in both retail and food & beverage areas
  • Operate tills and prepare drinks and food
  • Assist in events and activities hosted at the centre
  • Maintain a clean and organised environment
  • Restock shelves and manage inventory as needed
  • Engage visitors in a welcoming and professional manner, ensuring excellent customer service at all times
  • Work closely with dedicated staff and volunteers to support the Trust’s conservation mission
Qualifications & Traits
  • Friendly and customer‑focused
  • Ability to work as part of a team and adapt to a rota schedule
  • Interest in customer service and wildlife conservation is an advantage
