Essex Private Doctors, a growing private GP and menopause clinic in Brentwood, is looking for a Receptionist to join our exceptional team. As the first point of contact, you’ll play a vital role in delivering a seamless and supportive experience for our patients—from their first enquiry to ongoing care.

What You’ll Do

  • Welcome and check in patients and visitors
  • Manage appointments using Semble
  • Answer calls and emails professionally and promptly
  • Verify patient ID, process payments, and update records
  • Support doctors with admin, prescriptions, and clinical tasks
  • Maintain a tidy, calm and organised reception area
  • Uphold high standards of confidentiality, infection control, and patient care
  • Assist with stock control, audits, and chaperoning

What We’re Looking For

  • Warm, empathetic communicator with excellent spoken/written English
  • Confident with IT systems (Semble, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office)
  • Calm, organised, discreet, and detail-focused
  • A true team player with a positive, “can do” attitude
  • Experience in a healthcare setting is an advantage

Working Hours (Full-Time)

  • Mon: 10:00–18:00
  • Tues: 11:30–19:30
  • Wed/Thurs: 10:00–18:00
  • Fri: 07:45–15:45
  • One Saturday morning in three: 07:45–12:45
  • Monthly team meeting: Thurs, 18:00–19:00
  • Flexibility and holiday cover are essential.

Salary & Benefits

  • £13.00/hour – £27,040 base salary
  • Overtime for Saturdays (paid at 1.5x)
  • 20 days holiday + bank holidays (increases with service)
  • Private health insurance (after qualifying period)

  • Enhanced DBS required

Location: Essex Private Doctors, 57 Crown Street, Brentwood CM14 4BD. This is an on-site role – remote working is not available.
