An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specials Training and Development Officer at the Essex Police College. This permanent vacancy is available across the core office hours of 0800-1700 Mon-Fri; however, there may be a requirement to work some evenings and weekends on an occasional basis (for which relevant allowances will be paid). The specific hours and days worked are for discussion and negotiation prior to the role start date.
As part of an ongoing programme to deliver and design the Special Constable Learning Programme (SCLP) primarily for Special Constables and equivalent training for PCSOs within Essex Police, the applicant will be responsible for coordinating, designing and on some occasions delivering training to Special Constables up to the rank of Inspector. The applicant will also be responsible for maintaining training records for all Special Constables utilising the Duty sheet system.

- Strong organisational and planning skills combined with attention to detail.
- Experience in taking ownership of a task and progressing it to a successful conclusion.
In addition, it would be helpful if you could evidence:
- Experience of assessing or supporting another person’s development within the workplace.
- Experience of public speaking, especially in a learning environment.
