Contract: Secondment/fixed-term | Part-time/Full-time: Full Time (12 month fixed-term)

Responsibilities
- Work within the Property Disposal team as a Property Disposal Assistant on a 12 month fixed-term contract, based at Medway Police Station.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders to generate funds from the sale of items seized in police operations and redundant force equipment.
- Receive, log, and store items of seized, found, or unclaimed property under the Property Act and prepare for sale to reduce waste and create additional income streams for Kent Police.
- Work with property assistant colleagues to retrieve and manage the disposal of items no longer deemed evidential in line with policies and processes.
- Travel to property stores and locations in and out of Kent to transport items as needed.
- Possess competent information technology skills, including a variety of Microsoft packages.
- Meet the requirements of in-house Police Permit Tests for diesel cars, petrol cars, vans and 4×4 as applicable after appointment.
- Adhere to health and safety practices; demonstrate physical fitness for manual handling as items are collected and delivered.
Qualifications
- Minimum GCSE standard in English and basic numeracy, or at least 2 years of experience in a support service environment.
- Organised and able to work under pressure with appropriate escalation to the Team Leader as necessary.
- Clean, current UK driving licence is essential.
- Ability to travel to property stores and locations in and out of Kent.
- Excellent ICT skills, including Microsoft packages.
- Willingness to pass in-house Police Permit Tests for relevant vehicle types.
- Health and safety knowledge; risk management experience is beneficial.
- Experience in policing or evidential property environment is advantageous but not essential.
