You will be responsible for protecting lives and property, as well as preventing and detecting crime. Working as part of a close team, you’ll serve and protect the diverse communities and businesses of Kent.

To join our Investigate First Police Constable Entry Programme (IF PCEP), you must meet these eligibility criteria:

  • Be over 18 (you can apply at 17 and start when you turn 18) – there is no upper age limit
  • Be a British citizen, an EC/EEA national, a Commonwealth citizen, or a foreign national with no restrictions on your stay in the UK. You must have lived in the UK continuously for the past 3 years (unless serving with UK armed forces)
  • Be in good health, including fitness and eyesight
  • Have no criminal record, although some offences may be considered, which will be reviewed upon application
  • Have obtained a Level 3 qualification or demonstrate relevant experience or training equivalent to Level 3

You are also eligible if you meet one of these criteria:

  • You are a Kent Police staff member, PCSO, or special constable who has passed probation
  • You have at least 3 years’ service with the armed forces and an exemplary discharge reference

All positions require vetting and security clearance. During recruitment, you will be asked to complete vetting information forms.
