An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Application Development Team in IT Services as a Senior Software Developer. Responsible for the design, development, and 3rd line support of bespoke and innovative solutions, you will work on a variety of interesting projects covering the full development life cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the design, development, and 3rd line support of bespoke and innovative solutions across projects such as Bail application, Room & Desk Booking system, Mental Health (Section 136) Management systems, Evidence Based Investigative Tool, and administration systems for back office functions.

Qualifications

  • 3 or more years’ experience with systems implementation, covering the full application lifecycle.
  • Sound understanding and appreciation of principles and practice of good system design.
  • Excellent time management and ability to work to deadlines.

Additional Expertise

  • Understanding and experience of using the Scrum framework.

Working Conditions

The role offers flexibility in terms of place of work, including the potential to work from home. Successful candidates may be required to attend a designated ‘Team Zone’ as agreed with the line manager. Current designation is Northfleet. Travel costs beyond the Team Zone will not be paid. For the Essex location, work is predominately (80% or more) at home only, with office work when required.
