An ongoing transformation programme in Essex has opened up several exciting opportunities for psychological services professionals interested in the treatment and management of Complex Trauma that may meet criteria for Personality Disorder. The integrated care pathway supports the NHS Long Term Plan and Community Mental Health Framework, challenging traditional mental health models to prevent crises and develop community-based, integrated services.
There is a significant demand for Personality Disorder Awareness Training and broader training across EPUT and partner organisations. Due to increasing demand and the anticipated rise in training sessions in 2025, we seek a dedicated training coordinator and facilitator with lived/living experience of Personality Disorder/Complex Emotional Needs to join the Service User Network team.
As a valued member of the multidisciplinary team, the Expert by Experience Training Facilitator and Coordinator will support the Personality Disorders and Complex Needs (PD&CN) team and wider Psychological Services in developing, coordinating, and delivering bespoke training. Lived/living experience of Complex Trauma meeting criteria for Personality Disorder is essential.
The key responsibilities include:
- Using lived/living experience to inform training needs and develop appropriate training packages in collaboration with teams.
- Coordinating training delivery and supporting volunteer facilitators with lived/living experience, in partnership with the Specialist Personality Disorder and Complex Needs Team.
- Delivering Knowledge and Understanding Framework (KUF) Training and bespoke training, including Personality Disorder Awareness training.
- Developing a communications plan to promote training opportunities and increase attendance, ensuring sensitivity to service users\’ and trainees\’ needs to foster empathic training environments.
- Developing an online platform to provide professionals with access to knowledge and resources.
At EPUT, we value and support our staff by providing supervision, an inclusive community, mental health and wellbeing services, recognition awards, generous holiday entitlement, an excellent pension scheme, staff discounts, relocation packages, and interest-free season ticket loans.
