FM Assistant – Band 2 – £12.51 per hour (£24,465 per annum pro rata) • 3.5 hours per week
Location: Brockfield House, Runwell, Wickford

Main duties of the job

  • To ensure that the ward(s)/areas you are assigned to are cleaned in accordance with the Work Schedule for those ward(s)/areas.
  • Perform vacuuming, sweeping, scrubbing and mopping floors; high and low dusting; wiping and polishing surfaces, mirrors, chairs (where applicable), bed frames, bins and sani-bins.
  • Clean toilets, sinks, baths and showers; clean cookers, ovens, fridges and other kitchen equipment; defrost fridges regularly; restock consumables (toilet tissue, hand towels, soap); descaling taps; manage bins and bin liners.
  • Provide cleaning for surfaces and items in patient areas as required, ensuring any items not to be soilied with body fluids are considered.
  • Make patient beds as required by the ward manager, including changing bed linen where appropriate (provided they have not been soiled with body fluids).

Additional duties: The above duties may be adjusted in line with service requirements and the needs of the ward.
