We are looking to hire a Finance/Office Assistant to assist in the smooth running of our School Office.

Hatfield Peverel Infant and Nursery School are seeking an enthusiastic and efficient administrative assistant to join our friendly busy office team. You must have excellent verbal and communication skills, a good sense of humour and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Previous experience working in a school office or similar setting would be an advantage. The role involves a variety of reception and administrative duties including supporting the School Business Manager and Headteacher when required. Acting as a first point of contact, meeting and greeting pupils, parents and other visitors, and dealing with enquiries in person, by phone or email when needed. This is a part time role for 13 hours per week (8.30am to 3:30pm Tuesday and Wednesday (with a 30 minutes lunch break), which will be term time only. The actual salary will be £7,267 to £7,619 (pay award pending).

The successful candidate will:

Have excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and other computer packages and school systems including SIMS and FMS.

Be able to update the school website.

Have an understanding of Nursery administration (desired but training can be given).

Some previous finance experience (desired but training can be given).

Have a high standard of written and oral communication skills as well as good numeracy skills (English and Maths GCSE A-C or equivalent).

Be proactive, conscientious and organised.

Be able to use discretion and initiative and be able to prioritise tasks.

Demonstrate good communication with parents, children and colleagues in a positive and helpful way.

Main requirements for this role are:

• Excellent I.T. skills working on platforms such as Word and Excel.

• Previous experience workingwith SIMS and FMS.

• Outstanding analytical and organisational skills.

• Accuracy and attention to detail skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
