Job Overview: An exciting opportunity has arisen to undertake the role of Administration Assistant for the Professional Standards Complaints Department based at the Kent Police HQ, Sutton Road, Maidstone.
Responsibilities:
- Create and close complaints.
- Answer emails and respond to voicemails.
- Read and scan post.
- Send outcome documents to complainants.
- Provide supporting documents to the Independent Office of Police Complaints (IOPC) or the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) to assist with complaint reviews.
- Maintain knowledge of complaints and misconduct regulations.
- Understand roles of IOPC and OPCC and responsibilities under Statutory Guidance of Complaints.
- Understand management of Police Information and data protection.
- Apply Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Behaviour.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous administrative experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient use of IT programs such as Centurion, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
- Team player, able to work within small and large teams.
- UK residence with at least 3 years continuous living time, free from restrictions with indefinite leave to remain. British Armed Forces abroad exempt.
Working Flexibility: The role offers flexibility in terms of place of work, including the potential to work from home. Successful candidates will be required to attend a designated 'Team Zone' one or two days a week as agreed with the line manager.
Salary and Progression: Starting salary of £25,809.00, with incremental increases within the salary band, rising to a maximum of £29,424.00.
