We are seeking a motivated Quantity Surveyor to join our team, supporting the Senior QS in delivering revenue works under the Cheshire East Highways Term Maintenance Contract. This key role focuses on robust commercial processes, cost control, budget management, change management, and effective subcontract account management. The successful candidate will work closely with commercial and revenue delivery teams and other departments across the full service delivery partnership at Cheshire East Highways, managing subcontractor relationships and ensuring compliance with subcontracting procedures, assessing applications, and certifying payments.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive support to the Senior QS and the wider commercial team, ensuring compliance with all commercial processes and contributing to the effective delivery of commercial objectives.
- Take responsibility for specific subcontract accounts, ensuring full compliance with RJ and contract‑specific procedures, including strict adherence to subcontract orders, insurance requirements and sub‑subcontracting protocols.
- Uphold and enforce compliance across all commercial operations, maintaining high standards in line with internal and external contractual obligations.
- Manage and maintain key registers for risk, change control, efficiencies and value‑for‑money initiatives, supporting continuous improvement and commercial transparency.
- Assist in budget management and financial oversight for key task orders, ensuring accurate cost tracking and value delivery across designated workstreams.
Qualifications
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Organised and able to meet deadlines
- Degree or equivalent relevant professional qualification, or suitable accumulated experience in a Commercial/Quantity Surveying role
- Experience of working to deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work across teams and collaborate effectively with colleagues
