In this role, you will work as part of a team to install, maintain, and remove temporary traffic management systems, helping to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of works across the network.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of the highway maintenance operational team.
  • Install, maintain, and remove temporary traffic management such as deploying cones, signs, frames, sandbags, and other equipment on low-speed roads.
  • Install, maintain, and remove temporary traffic signals including two-way traffic control, up to multi-phase traffic control.
  • Ensuring the units are installed correctly and that batteries are fully charged.
  • Collect traffic management from sites once projects have been completed.
  • Manage checklists to ensure equipment and systems are fit for use and fully operational prior to delivery.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience of delivering highway maintenance traffic management on site.
  • A current, valid driving licence is essential, with LGV class 2 as desirable.
  • Able to carry out basic safety, quality, and environmental audits and risk assessments.
  • Able to take responsibility for traffic management, 12 A/B Traffic Management essential with the relevant NHSS 12 training.
  • A good understanding of health and safety and its impact on the workplace.
