The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 Β£ per year.

The main purpose of the role is to assist, generally as part of a team, in delivering highway maintenance and construction works.

The Role

  • Work as part of the highway maintenance operational team.
  • Carry out a variety of skilled tasks including carriageway, footway, drainage maintenance, soft estate maintenance works (grass cutting, strimming etc.) and minor civil works.
  • Ensure that all works are completed safely.
  • Receive daily briefings and understand risks and control measures required for the task.
  • Complete daily record sheets and associated documents.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience of delivering highway maintenance activities on site.
  • Previous experience in winter maintenance and emergency response desirable.
  • Current, valid driving licence essential, with LGV class 2 desirable.
  • Able to carry out basic safety, quality and environmental audits and risk assessments.
  • Able to take responsibility for traffic management, 12 A/B Traffic Management.
  • Good understanding of health and safety and its impact on the workplace.
  • Demonstrable awareness of environmental aspects and impacts and waste management.
