Essex Highways (EH) is proud to manage one of the largest and most complex highway networks in the country. As a collaborative partnership between Essex County Council (ECC) and Ringway Jacobs, we are committed to delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality highways services.
In this role, you’ll work closely with our contractual partners to support the investigation and monitoring of streetworks. You\’ll assist in coordinating a variety of resources to help fulfil our network management duties, ensuring the safety and efficiency of travel for all road users across Essex.
The Role
• Assist the Senior Compliance Officer and other Senior Officers to ensure delivery of the Essex Highways and Essex Permit Scheme objectives, as defined in agreed service plans, in accordance with all council and Essex Highways standards and policies.
• Review, process & invoice all fees and charges within requisite timescales and in accordance with good practice and legislation
• Prepare and serve Fixed Penalty Notices (FPN) under the appropriate legislative sections of the suite of street works legislation available & review candidate breaches of legislation and undertake the necessary enforcement actions based upon the evidence provided for both criminal and civil offences
• Proactively ensure the reconciliation of invoices and work with Accounts Receivable and other partners to maximise debt recovery of all Streetworks Fees and charges
• GCSE grades A-C/9-4 in Maths and English (Essential)
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft applications including Excel & Outlook (Essential)
