This role is responsible for overseeing financial management and reporting for the Cheshire contract while supporting the central Head Office function, ensuring financial operations run efficiently, sustainably, and in line with objectives. It involves providing financial guidance and oversight, managing reporting and forecasting for senior management, and maintaining strong client relationships to ensure confidence and satisfaction. The position also includes leading the finance team, maintaining regular communication with the Finance Director on financial and administrative matters, and building effective working relationships with the Contract Director and wider Senior Management Teams.

The Role

  • Supervision of the day-to-day management of the financial function at Divisional/Contract level (of the Area covered)
  • Financial Responsibility of the full process of payment application to the client
  • Supervision of the contracts monthly financial figures
  • Through strong leadership, ensure that your objectives are adequately cascaded and supported by your team
  • Ensure the reporting is produced in line with Company rules & tight deadlines
  • Support the Contract Director to deliver the service for the Contract taking an active role in projects
  • Support the wider company finance and operational functions by taking a leading role in strategic projects as requested
  • Support the Company through Risk Assessment and Risk and Opportunity Management

About You

  • CIMA, ACCA, or ACA Qualified Accountant (Essential)
  • Strong first experience in Management Accounting (Essential)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles and processes (Essential)
  • Good IT application knowledge (Essential)
  • Pragmatic approach, open mind, curiosity, risk management attitude
  • Self-dependent working style, pro‑active and good organisational skills
  • Ability to communicate financial information to the Finance Director and also non-finance personnel and to be comfortable working in a large, decentralised company
