The primary purpose of this role is to undertake highway lighting maintenance on existing electrical assets and new installations across the Cheshire East highway network. As a Skilled Operative, you will play a key role in delivering a high-quality service by maintaining highway electrical equipment to a consistently high standard. The role requires the ability to follow instructions accurately and communicate effectively with colleagues, client representatives, and members of the public.
The Role
- Carry out a variety of skilled tasks including the installation and repair of Street Lights, Illuminated Traffic Bollards and Illuminated Signs.
- Traffic Management Operations.
- Provide instruction and mentor apprentices and trainees.
- Assist with audits to ensure safety, quality and environmental standards are met.
- Drive/operate vehicles/plant requiring both general and specialist skills.
About You
- NVQ Level 2 in electrical installation work – Public Light (or approved equivalent).
- Category C driving licence, preferably with CPC entitlement or a drivers qualification car.
- Previous Street Lighting or Highways experience.
