As a Technician, you will join our Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) Maintenance and Operations Team. Reporting to an Engineer within the team, you will be assisting with the delivery and administration of the county-wide ITS equipment maintenance service for a wide variety of electronic traffic control and information systems (including traffic signals, car park guidance, driver information variable message signs and traffic monitoring CCTV cameras).

Working with team members and our maintenance subcontractors, you will also assist in ensuring that all repairs to damaged equipment are undertaken in line with contract requirements as well as Ringway Jacobs' health and safety policies and processes.

Role

  • Undertaking computer-based remote monitoring of ITS equipment including traffic signals, CCTV cameras, and variable message signs using electronic systems to ensure equipment is functioning correctly.
  • Undertaking ITS equipment fault reporting tasks by following current processes.
  • Assisting in troubleshooting and resolving ITS equipment faults and operational issues.
  • Liaising with contractors (civil works contractors, signal maintenance contractors, communications and power suppliers), organising work where necessary and monitoring performance.
  • Assisting in preparing health and safety (CDM) documentation ahead of planned equipment repair/replacement works.
  • Undertaking site visits as and when required.
  • Carrying out any other ad-hoc duties associated with this role.

About You

  • You are conversant with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and MS Teams.
  • You have good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • You have a full driving licence.
