Assistant Quantity Surveyor – Cheshire East Highways
We are seeking an organised and proactive Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the Senior Quantity Surveyor in the effective management of Revenue works under the Cheshire East Highways Term Maintenance Contract. This role will have a particular focus on task order management, the administration of Early Warnings and Compensation Events, and providing application and account support to both Finance and Subcontract Accounts teams.
Working closely with the Revenue team, you’ll be responsible for ensuring clear and accurate contract communications, while playing a key role in subcontract management. This includes ensuring full compliance with subcontracting procedures, evaluating subcontractor applications, and recommending payment certificates. Collaboration, attention to detail, and strong commercial awareness will be essential to succeed in this dynamic and fast-paced environment.
The Role
• Compliance with all Commercial processes
• Specific Subcontract accounts
• Cost estimate review and approval
• Following schemes closely during delivery, providing support and advice upon change management and ensuring that all formal Early Warning Notices and Compensation Events are raised, negotiated and agreed
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
• Hold a UK driving licence
• Good communicator in all mediums and at all levels
• An understanding of health and safety and its impact on the workplace
• Organised and able to meet deadlines
