Contract: Annualised 1,355 hours per year – £13.46 per hour, salary £18,238 per annum.
Shift schedule includes Friday – Sunday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm plus four evenings per week for cleaning and lock‑up. Evening shift times vary with park closing times.
The Opportunity
Based at Belhus Woods Country Park, the Park Operations Assistant ensures the park is secure and accessible at critical times. Duties involve maintaining grounds and infrastructure, securing facilities, and providing an excellent visitor experience. The role offers opportunity to expand responsibilities as required.
Accountabilities
- Ensure car‑park vehicle access points are open and closed at publicised times.
- Maintain toilet facilities, reporting repairs as needed.
- Engage with visitors, resolving issues during park hours.
- Operate basic machinery and drive park vehicles.
- Perform grounds maintenance using a strimmer, ride‑on mower and related equipment.
- Secure all facilities, toilets, buildings and storage areas.
- Support general operational activities as required.
- Remove litter, empty bins and dog bins.
- Complete Health and Safety checks on play areas and maintain paperwork.
- Check on livestock.
- Aid rangers with a range of park duties.
Experience and Qualifications
- Educated to RQF Level 2 (GCSE or equivalent BTech) or experience equivalent.
- Experience delivering excellent customer service to the public.
- Good communication skills, able to provide information and advice.
- Experience working in a team and supporting teammates to achieve objectives.
- Self‑motivated, able to work independently with low supervision.
