Project Brief
With a long list of 31 projects, of which half are RAG rated as high profile, the organisation is looking for support to develop a programme to ensure delivery and provide assurance. The Council has established a project methodology and an existing project board, to which some of these projects already report. There is limited project management capacity in the organisation. The Council is seeking a Programme Manager.
The task in hand is to assemble project books from responsible officers in the organisation to develop an overarching programme, with clarity on timescales and reporting. While this initial assignment is estimated to be a 6-8 week role, it will also need to recommend ongoing resource requirements.
The overarching objective of this task is for the organisation and its political leadership to have clear sight of risks and issues in order to mitigate these, and confidence that these important projects will be delivered on time and to quality.
The post holder will require proven programme management skills, an ability to work as a team, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to get stuck in and deliver for an ambitious Council.
