Overview
As Project Manager for Capital Delivery, you will lead on-site delivery of large-scale refurbishment works for occupied council homes, aligning with Harlow’s major housing investment programme. You will work closely with a dedicated commercial team and public sector stakeholders to ensure safe, compliant delivery on building envelope projects. The role combines hands-on site management with coordinating contractors, schedules, and interface with residents and authorities. This is your opportunity to shape the upgrade of social housing stock and support an ambitious council programme.
Responsibilities
- Lead on-site delivery of capital refurbishment works to occupied council homes
- Coordinate with contractors and the commercial team to ensure timely, compliant delivery
- Manage stakeholders including residents, council departments, and external partners
- Ensure adherence to JCT contract terms and construction management standards
- Monitor progress, quality, safety, and risk across projects
- Support planning and execution of the 12-month capital delivery programme
- Report on project milestones and issues to senior stakeholders
Key requirements
- Experienced construction project manager in the public sector housing context
- Experience delivering works to occupied residential units for local authorities or housing associations
- Strong people and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working with the JCT form of contract
