Part Time Business Administrator – Residential Home

Permanent, Part Time (32 hours per week) role based in the residential care home that supports adults with learning disabilities and/or autism.

Pay: £25,081 to £28,099 per annum, full‑time equivalent

Location: Clacton on Sea

Working style: Fixed‑base worker

Accountabilities

  • Deliver effective administrative support to ensure the residential home runs smoothly and deadlines are met.
  • Provide statistical information for regular management reporting on staff (sickness, annual leave, overtime) and service‑user data to enable accurate financial charging.
  • Ensure all relevant financial procedures, including Amenity Accounts, are in place for safe handling and banking of all monies, both cash and cheques.
  • Maintain and update relevant systems accurately, highlighting office processes to new staff.
  • Handle public, service‑user and carer interactions, dealing with complaints in line with policies and procedures.
  • Operate the reception area efficiently, prioritising calls and giving visitors a good first impression.
  • Collaborate with the team, sharing Health and Safety knowledge and recognising service‑user issues that need prioritisation.
  • Work towards specific individual and shared targets and objectives defined annually within the performance‑management framework.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Knowledge of computer‑based systems including MS Excel, Outlook and Word.
  • Experience delivering business support, translating data and dealing with external enquiries within a social‑care setting.
  • Familiarity with Financial Monitoring Regulations and financial management systems.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with diverse groups, including challenging family situations.
  • Experience developing strong working relationships with partners, agencies and the local community to achieve joint objectives for vulnerable adults.
  • Education to RQF Level 3 (A‑level) or equivalent, with willingness to achieve the award within 24 months of starting the role.
  • Evidence of self‑development in a particular professional area.
