Essex County Council (ECC) are delighted to be supporting Maldon District Council to recruit a Principal Building Control Surveyor on an initial 3-month temporary basis.
Key Accountabilities- Carry out site inspections and plan checking (min 2 days on site per week)
- Attend to dangerous structures
- Carry out enforcement of The Building Regulations and Building Act as necessary
- Supervise senior, junior surveyors and admin staff
- Deputise for the Building Control Manager when required
- Assist the Building Control Manager in the implementation of the BSR operational Standards
- Assist the Building Control Manager in procedural changes to the service
- Plan checking
Please note that this post requires you to be based in the office 1 day a week with additional travel around the district to do site inspections for 2 days per week.

- Minimum Class 2F Registration and Chartered with CIOB/ RICS/ CABE
