Summary: Support the School Crossing Patrol Team at Danbury Park Community School by ensuring the safety of all pedestrians crossing the road to and from school and surrounding locations. Work approximately 7.5 hours per week during the academic year, 45 minutes in the morning (08:00‐09:00) and 45 minutes in the afternoon (14:45‐15:45).

  • Can meet mobility requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Consider the needs of people with disabilities, especially mobility impaired people using the crossing point.
  • Maintain regular contact with the schools attended by children using the crossing.
  • Regularly assess the risks at the crossing site to identify any problems; report problems and defects to supervisor.
  • Assist in preparing reports on accidents, failure to stop incidents and other incidents occurring at the crossing site.
  • Ensure all uniform and equipment provided is maintained in good condition and replacements requested when needed.
  • Give clear signals to drivers when stopping traffic and ensure the traffic remains at rest until the road at the crossing point is clear of pedestrians.
