Castle Point Borough Council is looking for a full-time Housing Income Officer to work within the Finance and Procurement Service.

Key Skills and Abilities:

  • Manage rent collection and arrears enforcement across multiple tenures.
  • Administer payment methods including Direct Debits, APAs, and DWP deductions.
  • Prepare legal documentation and court bundles for rent recovery.
  • Communicate effectively with tenants and stakeholders, including vulnerable individuals.
  • Use housing systems such as OHMS, DWP Landlord Portal, and Smart Pay.
  • Work independently and manage a varied workload.

Experience:

  • Previous practical experience in rent recovery, arrears management, and enforcement is essential.
  • Experience in handling complex cases, supporting vulnerable tenants, and preparing for court proceedings is desirable.

Qualifications:

  • Applicants must have a sound understanding of housing legislation, rent policy, and benefit regulations.
