The successful candidate will be required to deliver training to the health & social care workforce throughout the North Essex area. They will be a Health and Social Care professional and hold relevant teaching and assessment qualifications, with the ability to deliver training up to and including Level 5. Our Health and Social Care curriculum includes both Adult Care and Children's Residential Care.

The Vocational Trainer delivers engaging, high-quality teaching, training and assessment across a range of vocational areas and qualification levels, supporting learners to achieve recognised standards and positive progression outcomes. The postholder will plan, deliver and assess learning in line with awarding body and quality assurance requirements, maintaining high expectations and inclusive approaches for all learners. They will draw upon sector-specific expertise to bring learning to life, using digital tools, practical demonstrations and real workplace examples. Teaching will be delivered across both Adult and Children's care settings.
Accountabilities:
- Deliver high-quality, inclusive and engaging teaching, learning and assessment within a designated vocational area, both in person and online, to ensure learners achieve planned outcomes.
- Develop schemes of work, lesson plans and learning materials that reflect sector practice, employer expectations and awarding body criteria to provide relevant and compliant learning experiences.
- Prepare learners for assessment, ensuring timely completion and achievement of qualifications and professional standards.
- Design and adapt delivery to meet individual learning needs and embed English, maths, digital and employability skills where appropriate to enhance learner capability.
- Use appropriate diagnostic and formative assessment tools to track progress, provide constructive feedback, and support improvement for successful learner outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with quality assurance, safeguarding and Prevent, actively promote equality of opportunity and wellbeing across all aspects of service delivery ensuring all staff and learners feel respected, supported and able to thrive to maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Maintain accurate records of learner attendance, progress and achievement using ACL-approved systems to support monitoring and reporting requirements.
The Experience You Will Bring:
- Educated to RQF Level 4 or above in a relevant vocational area (or equivalent professional experience).
- Occupationally competent in delivering qualifications up to and including Level 5.
- Evidence of continuing professional development and up-to-date occupational expertise in a relevant vocational field.
- Proven experience in teaching, training or assessing adults or apprentices, preferably in FE or work-based learning, and holds relevant teaching and assessment qualification.
- Strong planning, organisational and communication skills with the ability to adapt delivery for diverse learner needs.
- Competent in the use of e-learning platforms, digital tools and online delivery methods.
- Commitment to inclusive education, safeguarding and continuous improvement in teaching practice.
