About the Role


The role is within the West Essex Neighbourhood team, operating in Harlow and closely partnering with health, housing and voluntary sector organisations. You will work with adults aged 18 and above across all specialisms, conducting Care Act assessments, reviews, mental capacity assessments and safeguarding. You will support independence, maximise potential, assist those with complex needs and diverse situations, focusing on early intervention, prevention and recovery.


Key Responsibilities



  • Conduct Care Act 2014 assessments and reviews.

  • Carry out mental capacity assessments and safeguarding procedures.

  • Provide advice and guidance in complex social work situations.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with partner agencies and the local community.

  • Chair meetings involving clients, families, carers and multi‑agency professionals.

  • Travel within Essex and beyond, meeting mobility requirements.


About You


You are a qualified social worker with current Social Work England registration and established experience in Adult Social Care. You demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of legislation, regulation and guidance, and act as a subject‑matter expert.



  • Evidence of continuing professional development and capability of practice in accordance with current professional standards.

  • In‑depth understanding of the financial implications of commissioned care packages.

  • Ability to make clear decisions, highlight and limit potential risks associated with intervention.

  • Valid driving licence and access to a car or other means to meet mobility requirements.
