As Active Environments Officer you will play a key role in the creation of environments that support healthy and active lifestyles within Harlow. This will be done by taking a system change based approach to influencing policy, planning and infrastructure developments at a strategic level. You will also be skilled at building relationships and delivering outcome driven projects within the community. You will play a key role in improving health and wellbeing outcomes for Harlow residents.
You are expected to have credible knowledge, experience and awareness of work including physical activity, active travel, planning, housing development, and section 106 agreements. You will be expected to work flexibly and autonomously whilst contributing to the wider work Culture and Community and Planning and Garden Town teams as appropriate. You will also contribute towards the development of best practice and network by building relationships across the Active Network, particularly with other Place Partnership Expansion areas.
The post is being recruited on a fixed term contract for three years following a successful partnership application, led by Active Essex, to Sport England’s Place Partnership Expansion Programme for £988,244. Active Environments is a strategic priority for this funding and you will play a key role in helping us achieve outcomes against the priority. You will be expected to contribute to the wider Sport England Place Partnership Expansion work.
This position is being offered as a three year fixed term contract. Working hours: 37.5 hours per week (banking 30 minutes per week towards the shut down between Christmas and New Year). This post is subject to a basic DBS check.
