This position provides proactive, high‑quality administrative support within the SEND Strategy and Innovation team. You will manage records and diaries (including for the Head of SEND Strategy and Innovation), organise meetings and events, prepare documentation such as reports and minutes, and support financial administration including invoicing. The role requires close collaboration with schools, stakeholders and families to uphold compliance and deliver effective communication and operational processes.

Accountabilities

  • Deliver high-quality administration support services and maintain records and databases for the team.
  • Collaborate with managers to support administrative activities across the service.
  • Review and keep directory listings up‑to‑date by liaising with providers for the Essex Local Offer website.
  • Support scheduling of social media posts and monitor comment replies.
  • Manage key appointments and prioritise items for attention based on sensitivity, confidentiality and contention.
  • Organise and facilitate conferences, events and meetings, coordinating with schools and stakeholders for termly meetings across the quadrants.
  • Prepare and deliver minutes, correspondence, reports and presentations on time with supporting documentation.
  • Work with the School Communication and Educational Psychology teams to ensure timely handling of critical incidents.
  • Provide support to the SEND Strategy and Innovation managers for effective income management and invoice generation.
  • Achieve specific individual and shared targets and objectives defined annually within the performance management framework.

Experience and Skills

  • GCSE level education or equivalent by experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders and collaborate within a team to deliver agreed outcomes.
  • Willingness to work with a range of stakeholders.
  • Strong prioritisation, pace, and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Clear presentation of information in a structured manner.
  • Ability to build good working relationships across a large, complex organisation with colleagues and customers.
