About The Role
Planning Enforcement Officer at Maldon District Council, Temporary, Full Time. 50.00 ph umbrella. Location: Maldon. Closing Date: 18th May 2026.
Essex County Council (ECC) is supporting recruitment of a Planning Enforcement Officer on an initial 3-month temporary basis. Requires on site presence minimum of 2 days per week.
Key Accountabilities
- Focus on case investigation of potential breaches of planning control, producing formal notices, associated reports and dealing with Enforcement Appeals.
- Ensure a high quality built and natural environment in Maldon District can be maintained.
- Work with and support the Enforcement Manager and other Enforcement Officers to carry out site visits, attend/support essential training and attend appeals and court proceedings pertaining to your assigned caseload.
- Choose to work hybridly, supported by regular meetings with the Planning Enforcement and Legal teams.
- Liaise with members of the public, supporting authorities and elected officials electronically and in person.
- Provide support/mentoring to junior members of the team, as required and in line with Managerial direction.
