About the Role
Essex County Council (ECC) is supporting Uttlesford District Council in recruiting a Grounds Maintenance Operative on a temporary basis. Immediate start. Closing date: Monday 8th June 2026.
Position Details
Title: Grounds Maintenance Operative
Type: Temporary Contract*
Pay: £13.69 per hour (PAYE)
Responsibilities
- Grass cutting
- Hedge trimming
- Litter picking
- Edging and spraying
- Following Health & Safety policies
Essential Experience
- A good level of English, reading and writing
- Full UK licence with experience driving a 3.5t vehicle
Desirable Experience
- Working in outside spaces
- Chemical applications
- Working with horticultural tools such as chain saws and ride-on mowers
Training
Full training and the opportunity for further learning will be provided for the right candidate.
