Castle Point Borough Council is seeking to appoint an Estates Administrator on an initial 6‑month basis to support the Estates and Assets Manager. Please note this role will be based in the office for a minimum of 3 days per week.

Role purpose

To provide administrative support, working as part of the Estates department, delivering effective and high‑quality administration support for the Estates team.

Working effectively as part of the Estates team for the Council, delivering a quality service to agreed targets, in line with policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for estate queries and manage the Estates inbox
  • Process supplier invoices, raise purchase orders, and track department budgets
  • Escort contractors and ensure they follow health and safety guidelines on site
  • Take a key role in making updates to the Asset Management database, ensuring records are kept up to date, reporting on statutory compliance, establishing a case management system and enabling efficient access to key information
  • Coordinate meetings and update records
  • Perform other duties as and when required by the Estates & Asset Manager and Assistant Director

Key skills and experience

  • Previous experience in a busy office, ideally in estates or local government
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Up‑to‑date IT skills including Word and Excel
