A permanent, full-time position with a salary range of £33,711 to £39,659 per annum, located in Essex. This is a fixed-base role with some home-working and a requirement to attend other ACL sites 2-3 days per week, in line with business needs.
An exciting opportunity for an experienced practitioner within the Supported Learning team at Adult Community Learning (ACL) Essex. ACL Essex is Essex County Council’s provider of lifelong learning experiences for Essex residents.
Responsibilities:- Deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment within a defined curriculum area, ensuring compliance with the Education Inspection Framework (EIF) and service standards to support positive learner outcomes.
- Contribute to curriculum planning and development to ensure programmes are inclusive, accessible, and aligned to learner needs, progression pathways, and local labour market intelligence (LMI).
- Use key performance indicators (KPIs), Management Information Systems (MIS), and learner voice to monitor attendance, progress, and achievement, acting on insights to improve retention and success.
- Support the Self-Assessment Report (SAR) and Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) processes by providing accurate data and evidence of impact, ensuring continuous improvement actions are well-informed and demonstrate measurable impact.
- Provide line management, mentoring, and coaching to trainers to improve practice, embed digital tools, and promote inclusive approaches to teaching and learning to support consistency of delivery across the curriculum area.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI), and health and safety requirements in all learning environments, promoting a safe learning culture.
- Promote digital innovation and effective use of e-learning platforms to enhance learner engagement and outcomes.
- Engage with employers and stakeholders where relevant to support curriculum relevance and learner progression opportunities.
- Educated to RQF Level 5 or above (or equivalent by experience) in a relevant subject or teaching discipline, with evidence of continuing professional development.
- Teaching qualification such as Certificate in Education (CertEd), Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), or Diploma in Education and Training (DET).
- Proven experience of delivering high-quality teaching and learning in adult education, Further Education (FE), or work-based learning contexts.
- Knowledge of quality assurance processes and regulatory frameworks, including guidance from the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) and Education Inspection Framework (EIF).
- Strong digital skills and ability to embed technology in teaching and learning to enhance engagement and outcomes.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to mentor colleagues and promote inclusive practice.
Please note that the job role requires you to be mobile throughout an operational area. Therefore, the post holder will need to have a driving licence and access to a vehicle, or the ability to meet the mobility requirements of the role through other means.
