Responsibilities
- Collaborate with families, schools and key agencies to address factors leading to offending
- Represent the Youth Justice Service at multi-agency forums to secure better outcomes for young people
- Engage with young people with complex needs and their families
- Maintain high-quality records in the YJS case management system
- Work autonomously and manage competing demands while developing professionally
- Collaborate effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team across organizational boundaries
- Key requirements
- Qualified and registered Social Worker with Social Work England or professionally accredited qualification in Probation Studies
- Experience with children/young people or young adults with complex needs in a criminal justice setting
- Excellent communication and IT skills with high-quality YJS case management recording
- Ability to work on own initiative, handle pressure, and pursue continuous professional development
- Ability to challenge young people’s attitudes and behaviours appropriately
- Commitment to partnership working with young people, families and others involved in the young person’s life
